Every giving season reminds me of Aristotle’s quote, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Alone, we can only accomplish so much, but together, we are unstoppable.
Nothing But Nets and the global malaria community could not make progress against malaria without our donors who stand with us, working towards a day where no one dies from a mosquito bite.
12 years ago a child was dying from malaria every 30 seconds, and today a child dies from malaria every two minutes. While still unacceptable, that is amazing progress that we could not have achieved without our donors.
Every donation matters. Every donation — whether humble or generous — helps families living at risk for malaria get the resources they need to lead healthy lives.
I am proud of the progress that we have made against this deadly disease. With over $65 million dollars raised (to provide over 12 million bed nets), that’s a whole lot of families around the world who are protected from malaria, thanks to our donors and our UN partners.
We’re working one community, one country, one region at a time … and now, more countries than ever are closer to elimination: just this year, Paraguay was named malaria-free!
Together, we will continue to make positive steps towards change. United we dream, united we stand, united we act towards making the world a better place, one lifesaving bed net at a time.
