2022 United to Beat Malaria Leadership Summit Recap – Thank You, Champions!

Dear Champions, 

From the whole team here at United to Beat Malaria, please accept our sincerest gratitude for making the 2022 Leadership Summit a resounding success!  

Because of your hard work and dedication, we were able to meet with 136 Congressional Offices from 33 states to advocate for increased funding for the President’s Malaria Initiative and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and malaria.  

These funding increases would allow our partners on the ground to better respond to challenges created by COVID-19 supply chain disruptions, address issues like drug and insecticide resistance, fully transition to next generation bed nets, train more than 36,000 additional Community Health Workers, and much more. The funding would also ensure that we not only stay on track fighting malaria, but that health systems around the world are resilient and strong enough to respond to future disease outbreaks. 

We are hopeful that Congress will seriously consider our budget requests for FY 2023, and that would not have been possible without your efforts this Advocacy Day. 

In addition to our successes on Capitol Hill this Summit, our Sunday virtual programming was also a massive success, reaching audiences in over 50 countries.

The Move Against Malaria 5k will be held from May 20 – June 5.  Join donors, partners, and champions from around the world to raise awareness and funds to protect the most vulnerable populations from malaria.  UNITED we can be the generation to end malaria!
