Thank you to Candice Woods, Individual Giving Officer at United to Beat Malaria, for joining our Champion webinar on December 5th to speak to advocates about grassroots fundraising. If you were unable to attend the webinar, you can view the slides and recording here.
Candice led Champions through an exciting round of fundraising-themed trivia and gave an overview of our end-of-year United in Health fundraising campaign. The goal for this fundraising campaign is to safeguard health for 180,000 people in South Sudan by December 31st.
In 2022, in South Sudan, more than 2/3 of the country’s population, 8.9 million people, will need humanitarian assistance. South Sudan is also among the top 10 countries in the world most vulnerable to the impacts of a changing climate, including droughts and flooding, which can lead to malaria outbreaks.
All donations to the United in Health campaign will go toward protecting pregnant mothers and children from malaria. $10.00 can diagnose and treat a child with malaria, $25.00 can protect 5 pregnant women and their unborn children from malaria with preventative medication, and $100.00 can protect a community by providing 20 nets to give a safe night’s sleep for 40 children and peace of mind for their parents.
