2 years…2 million nets

Wow – it feels like just yesterday that we started Nothing But Nets with the UN Foundation and Rick Reilly. And suddenly we’re celebrating our 2-year anniversary today! Since we got started, we’ve sent more than two million bed nets to people in seven African countries, and we’ve got even more distributions planned in 2009.

Our success comes with the help of our supporters – YOU! Thanks to you all for creating Netraiser Teams, for volunteering at our events, for spreading the word to your friends and family, for sending us your stories, and of course, for sending nets and saving lives. 

We’ve also worked with great organizations such as the United Methodist Church, the NBA and WNBA, MLS, the Union for Reformed Judaism, and many more that want to cover Africa with bed nets and prevent malaria.

As you’ve seen, there’s always something happening with Nothing But Nets. Whether it’s our grassroots supporters showing up in droves at our City Tours, or the launch of an enormous campaign to send 275,000 bed nets to refugees in camps in Eastern Africa, we’re still working to make a difference in the lives of children who might otherwise die of a mosquito bite because they didn’t have a bed net.
