A Valentine to our Champions

We know our Champions care about making the world a better place, and we hope they know we care too! This Valentine’s Day, Nothing But Nets would like to extend our gratitude to the Champions who have dedicated their passion and time to our mission of eradicating malaria and building healthier communities across the world. With your help, we have made monumental steps towards beating malaria.

• In 245 meetings with members of Congress, our champions advocated for increased US investment in global malaria programs, such as The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria and the US President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI). 
• The Global Fund, which has saved more than 44 million lives since 2002, continues to increase the number of bed nets distributed each year, despite supply chain and delivery challenges caused by COVID-19. 
• PMI collaborated with governments in endemic countries to chart the course to elimination through direct investment, technical support, and by providing life-saving commodities like insecticide treated bed nets and anti-malarial medicines.  

We couldn’t do this work without you! At the beginning of 2020, malaria deaths were at the lowest point ever, marking two decades of global commitment and action that put the world on a path to end malaria. However, COVID-19 threatens to set our progress back as it puts stress on global health systems. It is more important now than ever that we remain committed to our fight to #BeatMalaria.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join us virtually at our 2022 Leadership Summit: United to Beat Malaria on March 13-15. While we will miss seeing all of you in-person, this year’s Leadership Summit is packed with exciting speakers, interactive challenges, stories from individuals fighting malaria on the frontlines, and training from experts in the field. You’ll also be able to meet virtually with your Members of Congress to advocate for continued global health funding.
