GreenDimes and their efforts to prevent malaria

This spring, GreenDimes – a Palo Alto, California-based company dedicated to helping consumers do little things that will add up to make a big difference – joined forces with the Untied Nation Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign to combat malaria. For each new member to join their organization, GreenDimes pledged to fund the purchase of one life-saving mosquito net. The goal of purchasing 5,000 insecticide-treated nets was reached in just 11 days! Given that four people can sleep under each net, as many as 20,000 people will benefit from GreenDimes’ contribution – that’s a big impact.

“This was just one of many projects that will show our members what a big difference we can make together in this world,” says CEO Pankaj Shah. “Other than AIDS, no other disease kills more people in developing countries than malaria. We thank all of our new members that have signed up – not only to help save our environment- but also to do their part in bettering a worldwide epidemic that so few of us are aware of.”
