In honor of World Malaria Day, The InterDependent takes a look at the progress made, as well as what still needs to be done, to prevent the disease.

In the half-decade that the world has marked Malaria Day on April 25, something remarkable has been achieved: Surely everyone has heard of a mosquito-borne disease called malaria. They likely also know that, while it’s a preventable illness, it still kills as many as 1 million people every year, many of them children.
