Today, Congress passed the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion spending package seeking to alleviate economic hardships incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Included in the COVID-19 supplemental package was $3.5 billion for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, as part of overall $11 billion for global response efforts.
This necessary funding is a step in the right direction to help other nations not only respond to COVID-19 but, significantly, stay on track in the fight to end malaria. We applaud our Congressional Champions for their continued support of programs like the Global Fund. Learn more about this exciting news from Friends of the Global Fight and the Better World Campaign.
