Slugging to Send Nets

When the Pew Environment Group’s softball team, The Tree Sluggers, isn’t at work fighting global warming, saving the forests, or protecting marine habitat, they’re busy rallying for the Nothing But Nets campaign out on the National Mall playing fields in DC.   

Monday, July 21st, an energized Tree Slugger squad of about 30 softballers donned orange Buzzkill uniforms and wristbands as they took on a top competitor in DC’s Environmental Softball League.  The Slugs raised over $300 for Nothing But Nets and had their largest turnout of the season in support for the cause.
