Welcome New Champions and Happy New Year!

We are United to Beat Malaria, an advocacy campaign of the United Nations Foundation dedicated to ending malaria worldwide. Together, we harness the power of grassroots action to secure crucial funding for programs that improve malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and research and development. For over a decade, we have helped to protect 39 million of the world’s most vulnerable people by advocating for a full spectrum of innovative tools and strategies, increased U.S. leadership and funding for global malaria programs. Despite tremendous progress made, a child dies nearly every minute from this entirely preventable and treatable disease. We know that a challenge of this magnitude requires both individual and collective global action. That’s why United to Beat Malaria is rising to the challenge to equip and mobilize engaged global citizens and partners to raise awareness, funds, and voices to advocate for a malaria-free world.

The following training not only further explains what we do, but also showcases what it means to be a Champion and how you can play a huge role in the fight against malaria. By engaging with our year-round advocacy efforts, you too can be a part of the generation to end malaria! Here are some upcoming events to look forward to:

• Leadership Summit: March 26-28
  • Our largest in-person event of the year, where our grassroots Champions prepare to meet with members of Congress in support of PMI and the Global Fund.
• World Malaria Day: April 24-26
  • Throughout “Days of Action”, each day will focus on a different form of advocacy action, ranging from digital petitions, posting on social media, and calling members of Congress.
• World Mosquito Day: August 20
  • Digital advocacy day to engage on social media and meet virtually with members of Congress (exact date TBD).
