The United Nations Foundation and the Nothing But Nets team are thrilled to announce the appointment of Margaret Reilly McDonnell as Director of its Nothing But Nets campaign. Margaret has served as Deputy Director for the past four years, working closely with former Director Chris Helfrich.
Margaret has a strong background in strategic partnerships, issue-based advocacy campaigns, and global health, having worked with UNICEF in Botswana, the U.S. Coalition for Child Survival, and the ONE Campaign.
Margaret will continue to lead us as we work closely with our UN partners across sub-Saharan Africa to ensure vulnerable populations including children, refugees, and families displaced by conflict are protected from this deadly disease.
As we continue to celebrate our tenth anniversary, we are confident that under Margarent’s leadership we can accomplish our goal of sending one million nets by the end of 2016.
Since 2006, we have raised more than $60 million and delivered nearly ten million life-saving bed nets and other malaria interventions to families in over 30 countries. We remain committed to raising awareness and supporting the voices of our champions around the country to advocate for critical malaria funding for the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Please join us in congratulating Margaret on her new position!
