In just over a year, Mosquito Joe and its 145+ independently-owned franchises have raised close to $50,000 in donations for Nothing But Nets! These funds have sent over 5,000 bed nets to malaria-endemic regions in Africa, South America, and the Caribbean; protecting over 10,000 people from the disease. Mosquito Joe drives its fundraising and awareness-raising efforts through two separate campaigns, MoJo Bites Back and Beat the Bloodsuckers.

Despite these successes, however, the mosquitos that transmit malaria are very clever, continually adapting to the new tools and technologies rolled out to combat them. An emerging challenge currently facing the global malaria community is insecticide resistance, meaning that in certain parts of the world, these mosquitos are becoming less susceptible to the insecticides designed to kill them and to interrupt transmission of the parasite.
