Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama just made several commitments at the Clinton Global Initiative, happening now in New York City. One of them is going to help Nothing But Nets achieve our goal of covering the continent with bed nets!

Today is a huge day for Nothing But Nets – we just announced at the Clinton Global Initiative a new partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to send 275,000 bed nets to more than 630,000 people living in Uganda, Eastern Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania.

Yesterday at the United Nations, an impressive group of leaders gathered to discuss the Millennium Development Goals, with a special focus on malaria. Attendees included the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, U2 lead singer Bono, Bill Gates, and 13-year-old star Nothing But Nets fundraiser Kevin Vernimb.
