NBN Statement: Congress Passes H.R. 1865, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020

This week, the House of Representatives and Senate voted on a package outlining the budget for Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20). This $1.4 trillion spending deal includes increased funding for bilateral and multilateral programs seeking to alleviate the burden of malaria globally, such as the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (Global Fund) and key UN agencies that are working on the frontlines.

Impact Update: Ousmanou’s Story

Fleeing violence in 2014, Ousmanou’s family was forced to wade through miles of forest and overcome multiple tropical diseases to reach Gado camp. Today, her joy comes from seeing her children – now aged 15, 14, 7, 4 and 1 – run off to school as she stays back to take care of her youngest child.
