For the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America, 12-year-old Nathaniel Stafford’s parents challenged him to do something big. In their eyes, a 10-15 mile hike to raise funds for charity was perfect. But Nathaniel wanted to go the extra mile — literally.

It’s a big week for Nothing But Nets as our Buzz Tour kicks off in Atlanta! We’re rolling into towns all over the U.S. to spread the buzz about World Malaria Day and fire up our supporters including students, youth groups,  Major League Soccer teams and fans, and community leaders. Our first stop on the Buzz Tour is Columbus, Ohio!

The Buzz Tour’s first ‘buzz stop’ was Columbuzz, Ohio! We kicked off at the Columbus Crew Major League Soccer game, where thousands of soccer fans stopped by to meet Mozzie the Mosquito, sign our giant 3-foot-high soccer ball, or snap their photo in front of our green-screen that makes it look like you’re on the jumbotron, or right on the field with the players — you should see it, it’s pretty awesome.

As cool as the Nothing But Nets Buzz Tour looks in photos and online – it’s even cooler in person! I got to jump on the Nothing But Nets Buzz Tour in Kansas City last weekend and I’ll admit — when I landed in KC I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going. But I trusted that I would find the big blue bus along the road … and sure enough, as I drove through the Rockhurst University campus it was there in the midst of the athletic fields. It’s hard to miss!

Rockhurst is the alma mater of one our Champions and former MLS player, Diego Gutierrez. Diego joined us on Friday evening as we talked to fans watching softball and soccer games — the fields were buzzing with activity and so was the Buzz Tour! This was the first time I had seen the Nothing But Nets Buzz Tour in person and it was AWESOME!
